We started our day off well with a quick stop at a Snowflake Donut Shop in Ozona, Texas. Yummy!
Our first stop was early so we continued to Hwy 16 heading to Bandera. Nice country road but we took the truck route because a couple of years ago we stayed on 16. The road became super twisty and skinny I was terrified at the hair pin turns with the motor home. Yikes!
Quick stop in Bandera but shopping was nil. Headed back on Hwy 46 toward Pipe Creek. Stopped for the second year at County Accents….fabulous place….mark it on your driving itinerary! Beautiful antiques from old mercantile shops plus lots of other goodies.
The garden is full of metal critters from Mexico plus other yard art made from vintage stuff. Restoration of many antique pieces is completed in the “Country Store”. Another great building to explore.
We had a delicious Mexican lunch in the attractive small house behind the Country Store. Wandering through the stores and garden was Wilbur, a rescue Pot Belly Pig. So cute and friendly and a real “ham”. Wilbur sits on command – for treats, of course!
Last year we met Abigail, a rescued Boxer, at Country Accents. She was then very shy and scared of nearly everyone. This year she greets everyone and happy to be petted by anyone! A wonderful change!
Tina and I are having a fun and relaxing trip and look forward to more adventures tomorrow.
