Tina is Feeling Much Better, Thank You

Tina is feeling so much better after a week of sitting and sleeping in my recliner.  I’ve been the sister nurse and she has been a super patient.  Thanks so much for all the well wishes for her….just will take a long time to use that very valuable right arm and hand!

As she was leaving this morning to head out to the ranch, we were greeted by the flock of wild turkeys walking around the neighborhood.  This BIG boy was showing off for the ladies in the flock.  They were not taking much notice of him though!  I was the only lady who ran for her camera to snap a shot.

We never know what creature will be hanging around as we leave the house.  Guess there won’t be so many surprises in downtown Kelseyville but we really don’t know yet – we may still be surprised!

Enjoy your weekend.  The sun is out and it is beautiful here at the lake after our unusually HUGE storm that rolled through the past few days.

    I am happy Tina is feeling better and she has a good nurse. Where exactly is Kelseyville? My husband and I are already daydreaming where we want to retire to eventually and I want to stay in California, we live in SoCal. I think if we moved to Northern California we'd be happy as clams. Is it by Clear Lake? My mom used to live in Healdsburg and I just loved going there.

New Christmas Freebie for you

It is now only 25 days to the BIG Christmas Day.  Whip up a few tea towels or make ornaments with our December Freebie design . I embroidered Santa holding a mini Christmas tree on a Sage Green striped tea towel.  He only took a couple of hours one night to complete.  A hint for you to speed your embroidery.  Thread a crewel embroidery needle for each of the colors in your design.  You won’t always be pulling the thread out and changing color.  This little cutie would make a great ornament too.  Just do the embroidery on muslin and finish in your favorite way.  FUN! I used our handy dandy Transfer-Eze to print the Freebie Santa and finger press on our Dunroven House tea towel.  The Freebie design can be put on your light box to trace directly onto the fabric – BUT – toweling is a little thicker and rougher than muslin.  Using Transfer-Eze solves the problem.  The smooth Transfer-Eze film put on your towel gives you a nice de...

Designing by Candle Light

Here is my new mode of designing – by candle light! A power outage for many hours in the middle of the night to late morning.  I gathered some nice brass candle sticks and got to work…..I’m an early bird!  When the sun began to rise over Clear Lake I was able to snap a picture. Not recommended for long sessions of thinking and drawing but OK at the time!   Got a couple of ideas down on paper to finalize and get stitching for the arrival of our new fabrics….they are due to arrive in December some time – YAY.
