Reminder–Print Your Latest FREEBIE Design

Our 3rd embroidery design in our series of Fruits and Veggies for 2012 is a plump and shiny RedWork Apple.

Just reminding you to print out your Apple pattern and embroider the RedWork design on a useful Sage Green Dunroven House tea towel.  You can, also, stitch on muslin to create a cute little pillow or add to an apron bib to spark cooking this coming spring!

I used Sticky Fabri-Solvy to print the design and finger press the apple onto my tea towel for embroidery.

So quick and easy to get ready to have some fun without getting out your light box and tracing the design by hand!  The embroidery design is perfect and accurate and dissolves away in a flash.  I place the completed towel in my kitchen sink and watch the warm water pour on the towel and see the Sticky Fabri-Solvy dissolve right before my eyes.  Give your towel a rinse under the faucet and dry on a towel.  Nifty stuff!

Print out all 3 designs so far for 2012 and get your collection underway…Beets, Asparagus and Apple.

New Christmas Freebie for you

It is now only 25 days to the BIG Christmas Day.  Whip up a few tea towels or make ornaments with our December Freebie design . I embroidered Santa holding a mini Christmas tree on a Sage Green striped tea towel.  He only took a couple of hours one night to complete.  A hint for you to speed your embroidery.  Thread a crewel embroidery needle for each of the colors in your design.  You won’t always be pulling the thread out and changing color.  This little cutie would make a great ornament too.  Just do the embroidery on muslin and finish in your favorite way.  FUN! I used our handy dandy Transfer-Eze to print the Freebie Santa and finger press on our Dunroven House tea towel.  The Freebie design can be put on your light box to trace directly onto the fabric – BUT – toweling is a little thicker and rougher than muslin.  Using Transfer-Eze solves the problem.  The smooth Transfer-Eze film put on your towel gives you a nice design line to see and a smooth surface to stitch on.  T

Designing by Candle Light

Here is my new mode of designing – by candle light! A power outage for many hours in the middle of the night to late morning.  I gathered some nice brass candle sticks and got to work…..I’m an early bird!  When the sun began to rise over Clear Lake I was able to snap a picture. Not recommended for long sessions of thinking and drawing but OK at the time!   Got a couple of ideas down on paper to finalize and get stitching for the arrival of our new fabrics….they are due to arrive in December some time – YAY. Oh, by the way….remember our RedWork SALE continues today and is over tomorrow. Visit the RedWork Category and pick your BBD Pattern and make your RedWork Challenge design.  Enjoy some quality Embroidery time!
