Driving today to Long Beach

Lucy, the motor home, is loaded and we will head off to the beach in Long Beach.  We like to get off our hill and part way down I-5 early so we have an easy day tomorrow as we head through the Los Angeles traffic! Lucy has never this empty since we bought her 4 years ago!  We used her as our moving van taking things to the new Kelseyville Studio.  She got a good sweeping and looked like this for about half an hour All the show stuff stored in the Studio made its way back out to Lucy and is loaded and ready to head south. See lots of you at the Long Beach International Quilt Festival opening Thursday night with the preview. Check the website www.Quilts.com See you at the beach!

Scary Friday the 13th

Make a Black Cat for your sewing room for today and all the next Friday the 13ths in the future. Boo Cat and mouse are just the right pets for you to make and use.  We have a handy Materials Packet for you so you have all the pin cushion and emery makings to make this black pair quickly and easily. Boo Kitty's “bib” is a needle keep to hold all the extra needles.  They will be easy to get to when you need another.  This is the very easiest way to adopt a new cat!

Santa Doorstop-Doll

On to the next step in creating Santa as a holiday doorstop and/or RedWork doll this morning. I have stitched Santa into the tall (16”) shape and stuffed it firmly.  I think it will work!! Now I’ll trace onto our nice muslin and stitch him up to finish for real.  While enjoying the embroidery I’ll think about how to dress our snowman and angel to draw up next.  This is FUN!!

Heading Toward Christmas!

It is time to think about NEW holiday designs. I’ve been fooling around with a new idea to make a Santa, Snowman and Angel doorstop/doll.  These NEW RedWork designs will be ready before Christmas rolls around – soon!! I just put Santa on fabric to make up a mock doll to see if this idea will fly.  Then he will be embroidered and finished.  The Snowman and Angel will be next if this works!  Of course they would all be nice wall hangings, too.  Let’s see – more to come.  Merry Christmas!

NEW Freebie Tea Towel for July

WOW!  Another month has slipped by and we are heading off to the 4th of July. Get ready for picnics and fun and embroider a yummy slice or two of tasty Watermelon .  Just print out the design and get to work.  Tuck your newest towel in our series of 12 Fruit & Veggie designs for the year into your picnic basket. As you can guess I printed the Watermelon slices on Sticky Fabri-Solvy to make stitching so EASY.  Give it a try, you won’t trace designs on tea towels ever again!! Happy 4th of July to you…relax and stitch a little!
