Halloween Witches Are A Hit

Our witches are the most popular gals this Halloween season. Make one of these "beauties" in wool appliqué or needle felted appliqué.  Either one will make quite the statement for your home decorating for Halloween.   Ghoulish Girl Enjoy Needle Felting this beauty on a 100% felted wool background.  The Ghoulish Girl   is felted with wool roving using a single felting needle....although a 3 needle multi tool would work wonders too.  Add layers of wool roving to create interest and texture in her face and clothes.  Lots of fun to do an "appliqué" version of needle felting! Enjoy a Complete Kit that includes: Pattern Wool Background 100% Wool Roving Felting Needles #8 Perle Cotton PLUS Wooden Quill to hang her from.    Bewitched Halloween Wall Hanging Decorate your home with a "charming" witch for Halloween.  She is lovely with a green wart on her green complexion....just what you need to greet all the ghosts an

San Mateo Show Is Back – BIG Time!

We had a wonderful weekend at the rebirth of the San Mateo Quilt, Craft and Sewing Fest! Shoppers and vendors alike had a super time. The expo hall was filled all 3 days and it was a party in the Bird Brain booth too. So nice to see so many familiar faces and catch up on gossip and news. We, of course, made lots of new friends too. A BIG thank you to all you lovely gals and guys who came to the show…..the support for Bird Brain Designs and for Rusty Barn , the new promoters is very much appreciated. See you at the show again next February 18 – 20, 2010. Get ready for lots more fun. Robin

Travel Photos You Haven’t Seen

I was just looking in my blog photos and found so many I took along our adventures on the road.  Tina and I are always finding something interesting to see as we drive.  Many of these are a little old but great fun just the same! In July coming home from Denver, we screeched to a halt on I-25 when a huge herd of buffalo appeared on the hills along the road. I grabbed the camera and took a “herd” of pictures of these nifty creatures.  They looked at me but I couldn’t get a close as I wished.   The BIG boys are really huge!  Because it was summer all their winter fur is coming off….they looked like they were moulting. The babies are a little cuter than all the adults but there were not too many.  Everyone took off in a stampede when I got too close wanting a better photo.   Quite a sight right next to the freeway.  Fun to see.  Hope you are enjoying your holiday weekend.  Have some fun!
